Hawaii!! Sept 2012

Day One:
Arrived got our JEEP! (I surprised Eric with a Jeep...of course I got it 'on sale') and went right to Wal-mart for grocery shopping, I went shopping while Grant took a nap in the car...he didn't sleep on the plane.  Oh plane ride was perfect...except that I was freaking freezing the whole time!!
Checked into our condo and was pleased to see that it was clean and was larger than our first apartment when we were first married ; )

Here's the only picture we got of the Condo...

Day Two:
Road Trip to Volcano National Park!!

 Lava Tube entrance!
Inside the Lava Tube...both boys needed to climb... ; )

One of the six craters in volcano national park..

 Pile O' Lava ; )

So there is this field of lava and every once in a while there is these little plants growing throw the lava...I had to take a picture of one of them ; )

After the National Park we went to Punalu'u black sand beach

First Sea Turtle...we were pretty sure it was dead...until we looked over and saw that it had gone back in the water without us even noticing ; )

Playing in the tide pools ; )

 This beach was beautiful!!

Grant was a little tired at this point...

Day Three:
Snorkeling at local 'hot spot' for snorkeling

Goofy smile...Grant started smiling like this on the trip...kind of curling his lip up...weirdo ; )

Mom and Grant underwater ; )

Comin' in from snorkeling ; )

This is one of 50 "Daddy and Grant pictures" I took...I just couldn't get enough of my guys ; )

Went downtown and walked, 'saw' a luau (it's going on behind us)...

Played in a big a$$ (and smelly, I think people used as a toilet and possible a bed) tree.

Day Four:
Captain Cooks Monument and Kayak/Snorkeling Trip.  We rented a kayak and drove to a cove and did some snorkeling and kayaking...oh and saw a ton of dolphins!!!  It was awesome!!  Well all except that it freaking poured on us!! ; )

"Cliff" Jumping...Eric saw some locals jumping off this rock out cropping by the kayak dock and he just couldn't help himself...

Like father like son..Grant was begging Daddy to take him too...or maybe he was begging me to let Daddy take him...how could I saw 'no'?  The went a few times, basically until I got too cold to stand there ; )

Got to love Hawaii!  Since the temperature is the same all day and night...we decided to go out an boogie boarding after Grant's nap...the guys had a blast!!

Day Five:
Went to kick-a$$ playground.  We kept driving by this playground on our way to beaches or whatever...and I just had to stop and let Grant and Daddy play!!  We met some local kids there and of course we ended up playing chase and shoot em' up...them against us ; )

Been looking for a teeter-tauter for years...parks in our area just don't have them...

Moved into our new hotel...we got a few more picture than our first place...this place was freaking nuts!  It was so big that there was a train that would take you from all the parts of the resort...had a ton of restaurants, two pool areas (one that was freaking huge!! and both had water slides!!), a snorkeling lagoon and beach, a dolphin show and 'experience' (kinda like seaworld), a boat that takes you from place to place in the resort too...basically everything you could want all in one resort.  Place was crazy!!

Here's a pic of the tram/train:

View from our room.  The waterway for "boat taxi', "baby pool" area and lagoon.

Panoramic pic of half the grounds

It worked out awesome, the room had a huge (hotel huge) walk-in closet, that fit Grant's pack n' play perfectly!  Grant thought he was so cool that he had his 'own little room' and we were stoked because we could hang-out inside or on the balcony during nap and nighttime, worked out perfect!! We unpacked and went to the pool ; )
Got cleaned up and went 'off campus' for dinner.  And Grant stuck his finger in a Koi pond and a huge Koi nibbled his finger!  Scared the crap out of him! To top it off he already had a sore on that finger so it started bleeding!  It was kinda funny.

Day Six:
We were so used to driving that we couldn't help ourselves and drove to a local beach that we heard was beautiful...totally was, but it was also super windy!

Daddy making sandcastles for Grant to stomp on!

Grant swimming to Daddy...

My little surfer dude ; )

Headed back to hotel took nap and played pool (big pool/slide and beach/pool):

Daddy and Grant going down big slide!

Playing in the beach/sandy bottom pool...

Singing some song on his turtle stage.

Watched the sunset

Day Seven:
Hung out at the resorts lagoon all day

Ate dinner 'on campus' at the Cantina, Mexican Resturant...

Took an evening boat ride after dinner ; )

Day Eight:
Hung out at the lagoon all day (ran into old co-worker).  We ran into one of Eric's coworkers from his first job in San Diego...12 years ago.  It was weird see her and her family, but worked out perfect because we wanted to give our boogie board and leftover food to someone and she (and her family) were more than happy to take it!  ; )

Watched the dolphins

Went to Petrogliphs

Day Nine:
Headed home : (

Day Ten:
Home sweet home ; )

All in all had an awesome time!!  Worked out perfect staying in two hotels and two different parts of the island (North and South).  First hotel room was bigger and had a kitchen so we saved a ton money eating every meal in ; )  Then moving to second hotel, which was super duper nice, small room but huge grounds with everything we could possibly need!  ; )
