Lila is 3
Grant is 2
'Ra-Ra' is 1
Needless to say it we were busy busy and the kids had a ton of fun...once Grant realized it was more fun to share toys then to hoard them...okay maybe he never really admitted that, but I'd like to think so ; ) It was poor Nora who got it the most...there she would be playing nicely with a toy and here comes Grant from across the room...SWIPE! right out of her hands! At first she was like, 'cool, you want that...sounds good', the next day she changed her tune, 'mom, he just took my toy (in baby-talk)' and on the third day, SMACK...'i was playing with that!'...Grant didn't know what 'hit' him! (Keep in mind that baby 'Ra Ra' weighs the same amount as Grant and is only a couple inches (maybe just one inch) shorter.)
But mostly they all played well together, which allowed Heidi and I, to chat it up all day ; )
Of course no visit to my house would be complete without a trip to the WAP (Wild Animal Park)!
Started with lunch and the Bird Show (Heath, "Master of the WAP" taught me this trick):
Whoa Momma! Check that out!!
Then Gorilla's...or Mug shots depending on the picture...
Mug Shots..."Assume the position KIDS!"
"Oh, I gotcha...this is supposed to be fun..."
Lila says, "Like this..."
Walking somewhere Grant decided to play model inside this egg...it was awesome, he just kept changing his pose...here are a few pics of that:
Then Grant found his "momma" and climbed on her back...
We couldn't help trying to get both kids on the Gorilla ('Ra-Ra' was sleeping):
Off to see the Lions (which were sleeping of course):
Okay the whole time we were looking at the Lion's Grant was freaking Roaring! Then when I try and get it 'on tape', he clams up and I look like a horrible parent who hasn't taught their kid what a freaking Lion says! LOL! (In case you can't tell the Daddy Lion is sleeping on top of the Landcruiser)
"Petting Zoo"...only goats in this petting zoo, not including the wild animals I brought:
Grant's thoughts..."Finally someone that will play tag with me...or not"
Saved the best for last!!
We saw the coolest thing, it was our last animal visit of the day and it was the Cheetah (and we were eating Cheetos when we saw him)! It was called "Cheetah Run" and it is exactly what the name says (those zookeepers are about as creative as me), we watched the Cheetah run. So first the trainers bring out a big domesticated dog (which is part of the Cheetah's 'pack') and once the dog gives the 'all clear' sign to the Cheetah, he make's his appearance to the crowd. This is the best part...the trainers then tempt the cat with a headless weenerdog (stuffed animal and apparently his favorite toy)...and from 100yards away he runs to get it! You know how you go to the Zoo and you see these amazing animals, but you can help but think..."wouldn't it be cool to see them hunt or all out RUN as fast as they can!! Especially a freaking Cheetah, while eating Cheetos!! It was freaking awesome...no pictures/videos to prove it, you'll just have to trust me ; )
All in all a great trip and visit from Heidi and the girls! Can't wait for the next visit!! ; )

That looks like so much fun Beck! Love that Grant was checking for money. I totally trust you about the cheetahs, and I totally believe you that Grant was roaring before you tried to tape it. Yep, I believe you :)
